Veneers
Veneers – also called ceramic facings – are the most elegant and durable way of correcting unsightly front teeth.
Aesthetic veneering
Unlike with a crown, the tooth does not have to be ground down. The veneer is a wafer-thin ceramic facet that is "bonded" onto the tooth with a very durable resin. The shape and thickness of the veneer resemble a fingernail.
Many models and actors owe their radiant smile to veneers. Veneers not only change the shape and colour of a tooth, but can also close gaps between teeth and correct slight misalignments. In this way, elaborate orthodontic treatment can often be avoided.
When it helps
Veneers can
- change the shape and colour of a tooth
- close gaps between teeth
- correct slight misalignments
Our approach
Correcting gaps between teeth with veneers
Gaps between teeth often occur in the front teeth, because there the lip frenula prevent the teeth from growing together (a so-called diastema). Often the teeth are also too small to fill the jaw. In such a case, orthodontic treatment does not help either, as it only pushes the teeth together but does not make them larger.
With the help of veneers, this gap can be closed elegantly without having to damage the tooth for a crown.

Misaligned teeth
Misaligned teeth are usually treated with orthodontic treatment using braces etc. However, this is very lengthy and usually takes several years. Misaligned teeth can often be corrected with veneers.

Enamel cracks and fractures
Through permanent overloading or a poor diet, teeth can develop cracks into which bacteria then penetrate and stain them dark. While deep cracks have to be treated with a filling, superficial enamel cracks can be treated by so-called "bonding" — applying a thin layer of resin to the tooth surface that covers the discolouration. However, bonding should only be used for smaller defects. If the whole tooth needs to be corrected in shape and colour, veneers are the better choice for the correction!
